Yogurt Ideas!
This post is for all of the yogurt lovers out there! Or perhaps you’re not even much of a yogurt lover, but have found yourself with a container of it and aren’t sure how to use it up. Yogurt can be such a versatile ingredient beyond just yogurt parfaits or smoothies (which are great too but you may want a bit more flexibility with this ingredient). If you’ve been on social media in the last few months you’ve likely seen the trend of cottage cheese in everything going viral, which if you like cottage cheese and these ideas, you do you! However if you’re not a cottage cheese fan, but still looking to reap the benefits of consuming more dairy products, these yogurt ideas might just do the trick (more on macrominerals in the diet, such as calcium, can be found on the sites blog here). Additionally if you like Greek yogurt more versus non Greek yogurt/vice versa, you can make many of these ideas with either one depending on your preference. Sweet ways to use yogurt:
Yogurt parfaits (can be enjoyed for both meals or snacks dependent on the volume and variety consumed)
Add to oatmeal
Add to a smoothie
Mango lassi
Yogurt toast
As a topping to waffles/pancakes
Fast melon sorbet - https://www.leannebrown.com/fast-melon-sorbet/ (this one could be fun to make with kiddos!)
Frozen yogurt
Yogurt pancakes
Savory ways to use yogurt:
Tzatziki (Mediterranean grain bowls recipe anyone?)
Raita
Chip/vegetable dip
Dips such as spinach artichoke or buffalo chicken
In chicken/egg/tuna salad
Salad dressing
Not surprisingly, well-known yogurt brands such as Chobani, Stonyfield, and Fage have a great database of recipes on their sites for both sweet and savory recipes.
