Recipe: Classic Hummus
Just plop this goodness on anything.
Or eat it alone with a spoon. That works too.
In all honesty, hummus has become a true staple in my house. Makes for a perfect snack with crackers or veggies, and instantly spices up a salad or sandwich.
Bonus - it takes 10 minutes to make!
1 12oz. can garbanzo beans
1 lemon, squeezed
1 tablespoon water
2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil + more for smoother consistency when mixing and for serving
2 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp cumin
salt and pepper to taste
*Sometimes I add 1 tablespoon tahini (sesame paste, but not always!)
1.) In a food processor, add all ingredients and mix until smooth consistency. Feel free to add more of a particular ingredient to taste to your preference.
2.) When mixed, pour hummus in a serving bowl and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and parsley (fresh or dried) before serving.
