If you’re on social media in any capacity, you’ve likely seen the trend of “snackle boxes” (like a tackle box but full of your favorite snacks). These are a great idea to keep your favs handy, whether you prepare it more nonperishable for on the go noshing or these containers can be prepped ahead of time and kept in the fridge for easy options during the week! All you need to get started is a divided container; you can get these anywhere, try searching for a container with dividers or even officially searching “snackle box” (like this one recently spotted at Target) + your favorite snacks!
Here are some ideas to hopefully inspire you and to make sure your snackle boxes bring on satiety, variety, and enjoyment!
Protein and/or fat and/or dairy: hard boiled eggs, meat sticks, jerky, deli meat, cheese cubes or string cheese, nuts, seeds, trail mix, cottage cheese, yogurt, nut butter, guacamole, salad dressing, hummus, veggie dip, tahini, olives, tin fish, tuna/chicken/egg salad scoop, dried beans or peas, edamame
Starch: crackers, mini naan bread, pita chips, tortilla chips, pretzels, cheese or nut butter filled pretzels or crackers, chips, veggie straws, graham crackers, cookies, pasta/mac or potato salad scoop, mini muffins
Fruit: really any fresh, dried, freeze dried fruit will do! Applesauce pouches can work too
Vegetable: baby carrots, cucumbers, bell pepper or mini peppers, celery, sugar snap peas, raw broccoli or cauliflower, small tomatoes, pickled vegetables, artichoke hearts
Extras / fun add ons: other dips not listed above, pickles, chocolate chips, candy, seaweed snacks
As mentioned above, tailor your box to what you like and what you need! If you’re keeping it on your desk or in the car, make sure it’s nonperishable (and likely not melty/messy depending on how warm it is where you live) or have more options if prepping to store in a fridge.
Mix it up week to week to keep it exciting and make sure you have yummy, satisfying snacks. Happy snacking!
